Job Overview

Reporting to the Fitness & Aquatic Administrative Coordinator, this position serves as the frontline customer service representative at the Jasper Fitness & Aquatic Centre, delivering daily clerical support, managing admissions, assisting with program instruction, and maintaining facility cleanliness and fitness equipment. As the first point of contact, the role ensures a welcoming, safe, and well-maintained environment while supporting overall facility operations. Flexibility is required, with shifts including early mornings, days, evenings, and weekends.

This position will begin immediately with an expected end date of July 25, 2026.

Work performed:  

Customer Service Excellence: Act as an ambassador for the Community Development Department by creating a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment; greet and assist guests, clearly communicate facility rules and offerings, process admissions and registrations, and maintain cleanliness and safety standards. 

Program & Facility Support: Assist in delivering recreation and fitness programs, ensure spaces are safely set up and restored, and support overall facility operations with a collaborative, team-focused approach. 

Equipment Maintenance & Safety: Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs within scope, complete routine inspections, and ensure proper lockout/tagout and escalation for equipment requiring further attention. 

Incident Response & Professional Conduct: Address customer service issues and incidents promptly and professionally, maintaining composure in high-stress situations while ensuring confidentiality. 

Administrative & Financial Duties: Utilize recreation software to manage transactions and records, handle cash and payments accurately, and document/report incidents, near-misses, and equipment concerns. 

Inventory & Facility Readiness: Maintain organized equipment and supply levels, restock consumables, monitor retail inventory, and manage lost and found to support a clean, functional, and well-stocked facility.

Health & Safety: Work safely at all times by following established procedures, using required PPE, participating in hazard assessments, and promptly reporting hazards, incidents, and near misses; ensure proper use of equipment, maintain compliance with legislative and organizational requirements, and support a culture of safety through awareness, training, and seeking guidance when needed.

  • Alberta Government Approved - Intermediate First Aid, CPR C & AED Certifications
  • Favourable Criminal Record Check including a Vulnerable Sector Check*

    1. ** Note: ICS 100 must be completed within the probationary period to continue in the role.

  • Preference may be given to candidates with additional training in recreation or related fields.
