Job Overview

As Director of Special Events & Strategic Partnerships, you will be the steward of our most iconic traditions while innovating new programming that reflects the future direction of the Lodge. You will protect and elevate the legacy of hallmark events such as Christmas in November and Symphony Under the Stars while curating fresh experiences and strategic partnerships that align with the resort’s luxury resort positioning. 

This is a Jasper-based leadership role. To design and deliver authentic experiences, you must live them. Our guests visit Jasper for its magic, and we need you here to welcome them.

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Strategic Leadership & Legacy Stewardship 

  • Own the legacy of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge’s signature events, ensuring their continued growth, profitability, and alignment with the Lodge’s repositioning. 
  • Lead the evolution of the events calendar, curating new experiences that reflect luxury, community, and the natural setting of Jasper. 
  • Set a clear long-term vision for events and partnerships, balancing tradition with innovation. 

Event Innovation & Execution 

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of events from ideation to execution, with emphasis on quality, luxury positioning, and guest satisfaction. 
  • Partner with Food & Beverage, Marketing, and Operations to weave events seamlessly into the overall resort experience.  
  • Ensure every event is evaluated against clear KPIs (financial, guest experience, brand impact) with transparent reporting to DOSM and GM. 

Partnerships & Sponsorships 

  • In collaboration with the resort’s PR Manager, develop and maintain strategic sponsorships and partnerships that enhance guest experiences and offset costs. 
  • Build long-term relationships with luxury brands, cultural organizations, and destination partners to extend the Lodge’s reach and visibility. 
  • Position Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge as the premier partner for organizations seeking to connect with a high-end audience. 

Cross-Functional & Community Leadership 

  • Lead by example as a collaborative partner to other hotel departments, demonstrating humility, accountability, and a one-team approach. 
  • Represent Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in the community and industry, building Jasper’s reputation as a destination for luxury cultural and culinary events. 
  • Mentor and guide the Special Events Manager and additional team members as needed, instilling a culture of innovation, accountability, and hospitality excellence. 

Accountability & Measurement 

  • Develop and manage event budgets in collaboration with Finance and Revenue, ensuring ROI is tracked and communicated. 
  • Oversee sponsorship deliverables to ensure value is delivered for partners. 
  • Provide quarterly updates to ExCom on event performance, legacy stewardship, and partnership development. Subsidized staff accommodation assistance provided

Job Requirements
  • Proven track record in leading high-profile events and partnerships, ideally within luxury hospitality. 
  • Demonstrated success in curating and evolving signature experiences with measurable brand and revenue impact. 
  • Strong financial acumen; able to link event strategy to ROI and long-term brand positioning. 
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with sponsors, partners, and cross-functional colleagues. 
  • Minimum 5 years of senior-level event management experience. 
  • Degree in Event Management, Marketing, or Business preferred. 
  • Highly organized, resilient, and able to balance long-term planning with flawless on-site execution. 
  • Must be based in Jasper, Alberta, or willing to relocate. Living on property is essential to authentically lead and deliver events that represent Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge’s story.
