*This position requires Weekday evening availability - Monday to Thursday

As an English as an Additional Language (EAL) Instructor, you will be responsible for planning,
organizing, and delivering in-person adult additional language classes to students at beginner
through advanced levels of EAL learning. EAL Instructors may work on a part-time or casual
contractor basis. 

Primary Responsibilities
● Instruct foundational learning classes in English language development at beginner
through advanced levels
● Plan lessons as well as interactive, hands-on exercises and activities
● Deliver programming in person at the Jasper Employment & Education Centre and
satellite learning sites in community locations with high learning needs
● Apply classroom management strategies to maintain an effective learning environment
for students
● Set up/tear down for your classes and assist with updating and maintaining equipment
and space in the Learning Centre
● Maintain accurate files and records of course activity, submit monthly reports
● Provide real-time feedback to learners and submit instructor evaluations at the end of

each course.
● Coordinate class schedules with the Adult Education Coordinator.
● Perform additional duties as required

Job Requirements

Qualifications
● Post-secondary degree or diploma with at least one year of relevant working experience
or equivalent work experience in lieu of formal education is an asset
● TESL or equivalent qualification is an asset
● Previous experience teaching EAL learners is an asset
● Strong presentation and workshop facilitation skills and the ability to engage the
audience in a classroom or workshop setting
● Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team within a
professional environment with minimal supervision
● Clearance from a Vulnerable Sector Police Screening
