Visitor Facilities Attendant (Stream 1):
Facilities Attendants play a very important role here in Jasper National Park. They are tasked with cleaning and maintaining Parks Canada Agency visitor facilities/buildings and grounds in all corners of the Park. The right people to fill these positions should work well with others, take pride in their work, and in going the extra mile to contribute to creating memorable experiences for visitors. This is a dynamic team and as a presence in all regions of the park, Facility Attendants have the opportunity to take on novel tasks interact with visitors answering inquiries and providing direction and representing the Parks Canada Agency at all times in addition to their routine cleaning and maintenance duties.

Visitor Services Attendant (Stream 2):
Campgrounds - Campground Attendants welcome visitors from all over the world, providing information, and education about camping in the national park. Campground Attendants provide information on a wide variety of topics including camping, fees, safety, weather, trails, day use areas, wildlife, park regulations and policies. Our team members spend time working outdoors; they are responsible for cleaning facilities, providing minor maintenance, and conducting facility rounds to ensure visitor compliance with park regulations. Team members are also accountable for collecting fees and keeping accurate financial records.

Entry Gates - As the first line of contact for visitors entering Jasper National Park, Gate Attendants have the privilege of welcoming visitors into the park and setting the tone for their visit. Gate Attendants at any of Jasper’s three gates provide a friendly service to visitors entering Jasper by collecting revenue through the sale of park passes, and providing basic safety and park information. Gate Attendants work independently for most of their shift but their work contributes to the smooth functioning of a larger team.

Congestion and Compliance – Be the friendly face of Jasper National Park and spend your day out at the park’s most popular day use areas directing traffic, interacting with visitors and educating the public on park rules. Your role will be to mitigate traffic congestion at specific locations through active traffic control, rove throughout the park updating a live webpage with parking lot capacity, and be a Parks Canada representative out in the park answering visitor questions, providing information and communicating park regulations.

Miette Hot Springs - As part of our fun and dynamic team, you will actively greet guests and assist in the day-to-day cleaning and minor maintenance of the facilities. Ultimately our goal is to provide a safe aquatic environment and a Quality Visitor Experience for guests of the Park. Miette Hot Springs is a fast paced, challenging and engaging work environment. A one-hour drive from the townsite of Jasper, the Miette Hot Springs is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a remote work experience.

Job Requirements

EXPERIENCE (BOTH STREAMS):
• Experience in providing cleaning services (in facilities such as commercial or institutional environments, other facilities may be considered)
• Experience providing information and service to the public, including complaint resolution

EXPERIENCE (STREAM 2 ONLY - VISITOR SERVICES ATTENDANT):
• Experience identifying hazards and potential risks, taking proactive steps to maintain a safe environment. (Examples: Making recommendations to improving workplace safety, addressing unsafe conditions, and educating public on rules and regulations when non-compliance is observed).
• Experience in handling cash, operating point of sales and performing cash out duties.

KNOWLEDGE (BOTH STREAMS):
• Knowledge of how to apply health and safety procedures at the work site.
