With over 90% of our colleagues living on property, we are looking for an inspiring, strategic, and dynamic leader to join our team as the Director of Housing and Lifestyle Operations. This role is pivotal in fostering an environment where our colleagues feel supported, engaged, and empowered, both at work and in their day-to-day lives.

Your Role: Driving the Colleague Experience at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge

Reporting to the Director, Talent & Culture, you will lead the Housing and Lifestyle Operations teams, ensuring a seamless colleague experience from arrival to departure. Your focus will be on:

  • Strategic Leadership: Developing and driving initiatives that enhance colleague engagement, well-being, and retention
  • Operational Excellence: Developing, implementing, and overseeing housing facilities, lifestyle programming, and employee services to create a vibrant living and working environment
  • Team Empowerment: Leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing Housing and Lifestyle team
  • Culture Champion: You are an energetic, optimistic and resilient Leader that promotes a positive workplace culture aligned with our values of respect, belonging, excellence, integrity, and empowerment

Key Responsibilities:

Colleague Experience & Engagement

  • Act as an ambassador for FJPL’s colleague community, fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging environment
  • Develop and implement programs that mirror the guest experience—ensuring colleagues feel valued from pre-arrival to departure
  • Create tailored experiences to support the well-being, growth, and retention of our diverse workforce
  • Lead initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction through events, recognition programs, and community-building activities. Foster a sense of belonging among residents on property throughout the year.

Housing Operations & Facilities Management

  • Oversee the operations of staff housing, ensuring accommodations are safe, clean, and well-maintained
  • Manage housing assignments, arrival/departure processes, and tenant relations to create a engaging and positive living environment
  • Collaborate with maintenance and sustainability teams to address long-term capital planning, maintenance needs, and environmental practices
  • Resolves colleague complaints and escalations in a calm and respectful manner
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including emergency response protocols
  • Develop proposals for capital investment to improve colleague housing and lifestyle options
  • Manage minor to medium size capital improvement projects
  • Coordinate with vendors and third party contractors completing work on property

Leadership & Team Development

  • Inspire and develop a diverse team, fostering a culture of accountability, recognition, and continuous improvement
  • Coach managers and colleagues in Housing and Lifestyle operations, ensuring alignment with FJPL’s service and leadership standards as well as our values
  • Create and maintain effective scheduling practices to ensure adequate staffing levels that satisfy business needs, follow budget guidelines, and respect the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Drive performance management processes, including providing constructive feedback, setting clear expectation through goal planning, and supporting professional development

Financial & Strategic Planning

  • Develop and manage budgets for housing operations, lifestyle programs, and capital projects.
  • Monitor financial performance, optimize resource allocation, and implement cost-control strategies
  • Contribute to strategic planning initiatives, aligning housing and lifestyle operations with broader property goals

Health, Safety & Well-being

  • Promote a culture of health, safety, and well-being within the workplace and housing community
  • Oversee residence evacuation procedure, crisis management plans, health protocols, and regular safety audits
  • Collaborate with Talent & Culture to implement wellness programs and mental health initiatives

Who You Are:

  • A proven leader with at least 5+ years of experience in hospitality, property management, or employee engagement roles
  • Skilled in strategic planning, team development, operations, and project management
  • A superb communicator with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build relationships across all levels and in multiple forms of communication
  • An expert at organization and process optimization – you keep everything running smoothly and all involved informed
  • A Corporate Wizard – You navigate complex internal processes and are not intimidated by complex processes
  • Not shaken by a challenge or a difficult task – You remain positive and optimistic regardless of obstacles ahead
  • Experience in budget management, financial planning, and resource optimization
  • A team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a passion for creating exceptional colleague experiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Previous experience in employee housing operations, community development, or lifestyle programming
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards

Working Conditions:

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • On-site presence required with subsidized accommodation provided if required
  • Occasional physical activity related to housing inspections and event participation
