Job Overview

This is a two-year term position with possibility of extension.

Work performed:  

Operational Support:

  • Work with Managed Service Provider to Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Provide on-site testing, troubleshooting and documentation
  • Support the setup of IT systems and equipment for new work sites and staff related to the JRCC.

Customer Support:

  • Offer onsite support to JRCC staff, contractors, and other staff supporting the recovery, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Assist with onboarding and training staff and contractors within the JRCC and supporting recovery work.

Third-Party Liaison:

  • Coordinate with external vendors, to provide onsite support and assistance to the JRCC and other staff supporting the recovery.
  • Collaborate with third party contractors to provide building access and help resolve complex technical problems to ensure seamless service delivery.

Consultation and Guidance:

  • Advise JRCC and other staff supporting the recovery on the use of hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Assist users in effectively utilizing standard IT tools, including operating systems and applications.

System Maintenance:

  • Monitor support tickets, performing triage and resolving technical issues for staff supporting the recovery.
  • Assist MSP with maintenance of technology systems, ensuring operational performance and completing necessary documentation.
  • Maintain logs and oversee batch job completions for various systems.

Methods, Tools, and Configuration Management:

  • Work with the IT Coordinator to update and improve necessary documentation and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and logging of IT components as they are deployed/decommissioned.
  • Assist with audits and corrective actions related to system configurations related to the recovery.

Job Requirements

Your resume and cover letter must clearly describe how you meet the following qualifications: 

Required:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or equivalent.
  • General knowledge of IT infrastructure, applications, and services.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining hardware, software, and network systems.

Preferred:

  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working in a helpdesk or IT support role.
  • Experience liaising with third-party vendors for IT support.
