We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team for the upcoming season. We offer flexible contract options, with both 4-month and 6-month contracts available, with the possibility of extension into a permanent role. 

JOB SUMMARY:

As Line Cook at Jasper Inn & Suites, you will be responsible for conducting yourself professionally whilst ensuring the quality and standards of the Food & Beverage Department. You will be responsible for following all assigned tasks and duties, food preparation procedures, health and safety standards, kitchen operating procedures, kitchen equipment maintenance, etc.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate under the direction of the Executive Chef.
  • Follow daily preparation lists and requirements.
  • Follow all opening and closing checklists and standard operating procedures.
  • Follow all cleaning checklists and logs for kitchen maintenance.
  • Follow all recipes and portion control standards correctly.
  • Ensure that all workstations remain clean, organized, and stocked before and during service.
  • Be on line cooking, calling orders and staging the timing of plate execution.
  • Ensure all kitchen inventory and storage areas are clean and organized.
  • Receive products; verify the invoices are correct and ensure product quality.
  • Produce high-quality product and service to ensure guest satisfaction and retention.
  • Follow staffing guidelines and timeliness throughout working shift.
  • Maintain all health and safety standards as outlined by Government regulations.
  • Attend meetings related to Food & Beverage if required.
  • Perform other related duties as required by the Executive Chef / Sous Chef.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of federal and provincial health, safety and food-handling laws and regulations.
  • Well experienced in proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment and tools.
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge.
  • Effective ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Open to taking directions; work well independently and as a member of a team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in a food preparation & cook position
  • University, College or Culinary education or extensive cooking and production experience considered a strong asset
  • Food Safety Certification or Training
  • First aid certification is an asset
  • WHMIS certification
