Job Overview
  • Prepare and bake breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods according to recipes
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately to ensure consistent quality
  • Operate and maintain baking equipment such as mixers, ovens, and proofers
  • Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and icings
  • Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure optimal results
  • Decorate and finish baked goods as required
  • Ensure products meet quality, freshness, and presentation standards
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations at all times
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Label, store, and rotate products properly (FIFO)
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and receiving supplies
  • Work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

Job Requirements
  • Previous experience as a baker or in a commercial kitchen (1–3 years preferred)
  • Knowledge of baking techniques, doughs, batters, and pastry preparation
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistent product quality
  • Experience operating commercial baking equipment (mixers, ovens, proofers)
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and presentation
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a hot environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Nice to Have

  • Formal baking or pastry training
  • Experience with artisan breads, pastries, or specialty desserts
  • Food Handler or Safe Food Certification (often required in Canada)
